How To Get the Most from Golf Lessons

It’s never easy requesting help, but in golf, it is almost a vital need . Not many of us are natural born golfers. Disasterously , we turn to our pals and partners , when in reality we should take a few lessons. One of the best golf tips for beginners is “visit your local golf professional “

Many people appear to have a distinct fear of appraisal and imagine that a golf professional would be over harsh with us , but you will find that they are purely honest , encouraging and very helpful. You should get advice on who to see for your instruction. If you want to learn to play golf to a good standard and enjoy it the right teacher plays a huge part.  Make sure it is a pro that has a good standing for teaching, one that treats you as an individual.  Everybody has different bodies and different levels of ability .

Instructions from your golf professionalare not as expensive as you may be led to believe and they are worth it because you will see great improvement in your game leading to less dissatisfaction , making your enjoyment of the game grow.

Of utmost importance, is being honest about your game. The professional will ask you what area of your game you want to start with; driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel you need help with .  For example – If youreach the green with no problem then it would be a waste concentrating on your driving skills when your weakness is clearly chipping and / or putting.

Listen carefully and follow the instructions. You may have doubts if the Pro changes your stance , your grip or yany part of your swing, but they are taught to teach people to play golf – they know what they are talking about.  It will probably  feel odd to begin with, but frequent repetition will result in your body consequently adopting the changed set up.

Usually a lesson will only target  on one or two things at a time. You might for example start with a lesson focused only on getting your set up right, followed by lots of practice on this one point. For your next lesson , you could focus on your swing.  It is vital that you do not try to cram to many changes into one lesson, it will just lead to confusion .

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t give any thought about the question sounding stupid – it is nothing new to them and they will simply give you an explanation. If as an example, you are not quite sure on how to grip a golf club – ask! If you don’t “get it”, tell them that you’re still do not understand and ask for more information . You must never finish a lesson with questions unanswered .

Golf Equipment can cost a lot of money , so surely it seem sensible to get proper instruction on how to use them effectively and improve your game?
